General terms of sale
These terms apply to all painting, wall covering, flooring and facade treatment services carried out by ALG Peinture for private and business clients. The signed quote and any special conditions take precedence over these terms.
1. Quotes
Quotes are free and without obligation. They detail the nature of the work, the supplies, the price and the estimated completion time. They are valid for three months from the date of issue. The order is firm once the quote is returned dated and signed with the words « bon pour accord » (approved).
2. Prices and additional work
Prices are in euros; VAT is not applicable (article 293 B of the French General Tax Code). Any work not included in the quote, requested by the client or made necessary by the condition of the surface discovered during the project, is subject to an additional quote or an amendment accepted in writing before it is carried out.
3. Deposit and payment
A deposit may be requested on signature; its amount is shown on the quote. The balance is payable on receipt of the invoice, by bank transfer or cheque. For business clients, any late payment incurs penalties equal to three times the legal interest rate and a fixed collection fee of €40 (articles L441-10 and D441-5 of the French Commercial Code). For private clients, sums due bear interest at the legal rate after formal notice.
4. Right of withdrawal
When the contract is concluded with a private client at their home or at a distance, they have fourteen days from signature to withdraw, without giving any reason (articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code), by sending their decision in writing or by email. If the client expressly requests that work begin before the end of this period, they remain liable for the amount corresponding to work already carried out in the event of withdrawal.
5. Timescales and execution
Completion times are given in the quote as estimates. They may be extended in the event of bad weather (exterior work), damp surfaces, unavailability of supplies, changes requested by the client or force majeure; the client is informed as soon as possible.
6. Client obligations
The client provides access to the site, makes the necessary water and electricity available and clears the rooms concerned, or indicates the furniture and objects to be protected. For facade work, the client obtains any required planning permission (prior declaration) and road-use permits.
7. Acceptance of work and guarantees
Acceptance is pronounced jointly at the end of the project, with or without reservations. The work is covered by the one-year guarantee of perfect completion and, depending on its nature, by the two-year proper-functioning guarantee and the ten-year guarantee (articles 1792 et seq. of the French Civil Code), covered by the insurance described above.
8. Retention of title
Supplies remain the property of ALG Peinture until the price has been paid in full.
9. Mediation and disputes
In the event of a disagreement, the client is invited to contact ALG Peinture first to seek an amicable solution. Private clients may also use a consumer mediator free of charge (articles L611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code), whose details are provided on request. Failing agreement, the dispute is brought before the competent court.
Terms in force as of 9 October 2026. This English version is provided for convenience; in case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
